Best graphics solution for future watercooling?

Hi, I'm currently building my first proper gaming system inside a Bitfenix Prodigy, with plans involving watercooling it in the not too distant future (a year or two from now).
I've got all the components, minus graphics card. And so, my question is as follows:

Should i buy a Geforce GTX Titan now, use it for a year or two, and then but it under water; or buy a lower-end card, like a GTX 780 or 770, and when I'm going to watercool later on, buy a Titan or if Nvidia comes out with something better, buy that, and then but the 780 on a shelf?

Just for your knowledge, my friend owns a company and can get the cards at very low prices, so money is not an issue, I'm just wondering if it is a good idea to watercool a year-old card.

Buy the 780! It's alot cheaper and in some cases can out-perform a Titan.

I've never known of a problem water-cooling a card either brand new or 1 year old etc. It's all to do with how you correctly install the waterblock on the GPU etc.

Okay, but would you then reccomend to buy the titan after a year or two, and watercool that? I just want the best performing card when I'll be watercooling, since the Prodigy only have room for one dual-slot card.

No, I'd watercool the 780....don't buy the Titan as in a year or two AMD will have it's new series out and so will Nvidia (persumably)

Okay, but is the 780 close enough to the Titan in performance?
I've seen these heavily overclocked 780's that have rated as cheaper Titans. So you would reccomend to just buy an ogerclocket 780 now and watercool it later, and then when the new series comes out, think about getting one of those?
