I know this topic is brought up all the time but i have narrowed my choices down to just a few, all are non reference and i would like you opinions and facts about each. I am mainly looking for performance then temperature, noise level is just a plus at this point. So here are my picks:

There are in my opinion two scenarios:
1. If you have a case with poor airflow, then pick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782
2. If you have a case with good airflow, then pick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127685 - I love MSI and their Twin Frozr technology. The ASUS OC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121707) is also a very good option - the coolers perform pretty much the same, but maybe you have a MSI/ASUS MOBO, and want to stay within one brand, or you just like one design over the other.

Also, your title says "best GTX 680 to buy???", but all the cards you listed are 670's...

All the best,
Caspar

Hands down:

Asus GTX680 DC2T (aka "TOP" model)

Review (older, but relevant): http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/55064-asus-gtx-680-directcu-ii-top-review.html

Summary:
IMO, this 680 is the best, or near-best single-GPU card available not counting the expensive Titan. I own this card and have no qualms recommending it. AMD has arguably better deals if you factor in the two free games but I can no longer find the awesome 3-slot versions like this 680 which run quieter than most high-end cards.

Also, there are other issues like PHYSX, Adaptive VSYNC, driver support etc to consider.

*I should add that the GTX 680 DC2T model runs at between 8% and 12% faster on average than a stock 680 (depends on the game). Be careful not to accidentally get the "DC2" or other model that runs slower. Asus tests and bins the GPU's the ones best suited for higher frequencies go into the DC2T. Having said that, I have had no success in stable overclocking. It runs up to 1201MHz stock but I had issues at 1260MHz so decided stability is better and went back to stock. I recommend you do the same.

Again, the card is a 3-slot card but it's the large heatsink that makes it quieter under load than 2-slot cards. The backplate makes it stiff so it doesn't droop and allows the load to transfer to where the screws attach rather than pull on the motherboard mount.

**Having said all this, I wonder how long until the GTX780 is released? The TITAN performs roughly 33% faster than stock (so about 24% faster than the DC2T). The 780 should perform at least 20% faster than a 680 or what's the point? If so, a DC2T 780 variant should perform nearly IDENTICAL to the $1000+ Titan!!!

oh im so sorry thoughs were my older picks here are the 680's:

He wants the BEST version of the 680 and that's the Asus DC2T variant.

As for all the 680's posted above, the highest frequency is 1176MHz and the DC2T from Asus is 1201MHz and likely quieter under load than any other card (due to it's 3-slot cooler).

Unless there's some issue with price or with using three slots there's simply no better 680 card available. The Galaxy at 1176MHz comes closest (others are much lower) however I don't have personal knowledge of this card's noise level under load.

i have heard that its really good but i cant find it any where. do you know where to buy it

I gave a link somewhere above for the USA Newegg site. Ah, "OUT OF STOCK"

If you can't find this card anywhere, perhaps look into the Galaxy version (I tried to update my post to reflect that it gets up to 1176MHz vs 1201 for the DC2T from Asus but your commen negated my update).

o got your link but its out of stock, is the wait worth it does the clock speed mean much and is it worth the few bucks (like 20)?

I would get THIS ONE:
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=71118&vpn=GTX680%2DDC2O%2D2GD5&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1277

*Kind of confusing, but make sure to compare the proper clock. For example the BOOST CLOCK for the above Asus is 1084MHz (versions 1201MHz for the DC2T). Try overclocking by 50MHz to start and stay that way for a few weeks to test stability.

It's got the same 3-slot cooler as the DC2T however it's clocked at a lower frequency. The ONLY difference is the GPU so there's likely a good chance you can get close to the same performance as the DC2T by overclocking it. I'd use 1200MHz as the absolute highest setting.

When you overclock, I advise overclocking by 20MHz increments, then drop 50MHz below whatever results in crashing for best stability. Remember, games will vary on how much they stress your GPU so one game might crash and another won't. Don't use non-gaming stress test like Furmark as an indicator either as they stress the GPU far, far more than any game ever would.

thats a good idea but i have a few problems, i might not overclock (just depends), and its the same price as the top but lower clock speed

That's all on you though. If you don't mind waiting (and can even order it) get the DC2T model. If you can't wait, consider the 1019 (1084 boost) model that's similar and should overclock slightly as I've said.

You don't need to find benchmarks. You can just compare the GPU frequency. There are TWO frequencies, a base clock and a "boost" clock. It doesn't matter which you compare as long as they are the same.

The Asus DC2T model has a boost of 1201MHz. In reality it probably averages close to 10% better than a stock GTX680. Some games may see only 1% and some games may see 12% over stock due to how they are designed (CPU vs GPU bottlenecks).

If the Sapphire BOOST is about 1100MHz then it's about 5% average better than stock.

*The biggest advantage with the DC2T is how quiet it is under load. I rarely notice the fan noise increase when starting a game.

Oh that makes sense. I actually have now picked the Gigabyte SOC vs the DCU2 Top. the gigabyte has a larger core and boost clock does that mean it is faster. Oh and it about 50 bucks cheaper.
