Is solid state hard drives better for gaming? I was looking to update my HD to one with more memory and better for gaming. What do you recommend?

Hello cdarnau, Hybrid or SSD drives are more focused on gaming in mind with faster load speeds so they tend to be more suitable for gaming. Each one has it own characteristics and purpose. Your budget will also dictate which drive to purchase.

Three are many manufactures out there so we are sure you will find one of your liking. Let us know if we can answer any questions; we're here to help and matter what you choose, we thank you for considering Seagate.

I do like Seagate. That's what I have now. They are older though. As far as budget I am not sure how to answer that because I don't really have one. If the best one I should get is $500 I will save up the $500. But if there is one just as good that I will not be able to tell the difference for $100 of course I am going to want to spend the lesser.

I guess options is what I am looking for. Thank you got the quick response.

I went home and checked on the drives I have, I am running (1) Seagate 4TB BarraCuda Pro 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive (ST4000DM006) ( That I have all my games on) and a Seagate 4TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive (ST4000DM004) That I have windows, pictures and movies on.

Hard drives are one of the last things you should upgrade for gaming. You have 4TB hard drives? You will not get a solid state larger. SSDs in that size are in the $1,000 range. For gaming, first things to upgrade is the video card and CPU.
