Hi all,

My specs:
Gigabyte Z790 aorus elite x ax
Intel i7 14700KF
4x16 corsair vengeance 6000 DDR5
Gigabyte RTX 4070 Super
Current version of bios is f6, was initially running f6, before i went up to f7 and then down to f6.

I was trying to enable secure boot so i could play beta battlefield 6, Windows didn't recognise that it was enabled but when i was in bios, all the settings said it was. Checked that my drives were in GPT which they were. The only other setting change i could find online was to update the Platform Key, which i did with no problems.

Saved and exited out of bios and now it is stuck before bios with the VGA light on.

Every time I restart my pc, it will sequence, DRAM and then get stuck on VGA. Ive gone through pressing the CMOS button, Removing the CMOS battery waiting 5-10 minutes and replacing it again, I've tried to Q-Flash both with a newer and then older version of BIOS then what was installed. Ive pulled the GPU, booted, then put it back in with no luck.

Im kinda stumped on this. I don't know why its stuck considering it's not even running on the same bios version anymore nor the same settings.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone would have any tips on what I could or should do as i am currently pulling my hair out in utter confusion.

Thank you for your time,

Cheers

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Try and clear the CMOS, in order to do this, users are advised to disconnect from the wall and display, then remove the CMOS battery, press and hold down the power button for 30secs to drain any residual power then reseat the CMOS battery after 30mins.

^ Would be a good idea if you did the above without the discrete GPU and your ram. In order to power up, work with one stick of ram in slot A2, remove all storage devices and then power up, see if that helps you get your system to POST with factory defaults(which is what clearing the CMOS does).

Thanks for that,

Ive done all you said and no luck. It still showed the same issue. I really don't understand what the issue is.

I think i might just take it into my local pc shop tomorrow and let them figure it out as this is beyond my knowledge.

I'll give an update on what they did to fix the issue when i get it.

Thanks for your help.
