Is the Sony MDR 7506 good enough for gaming? Also any other suggestions? And how good is Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, should I go for it?

It's not a matter of 'are they good for gaming', it's a matter of is their sound quality good and do they suit gaming sounds.
They have a great sound signature and good quality audio, it's the best choice in the price range.
If you ask me the HD280s are very poor value at that price.
