Hi all,

Our home computer just died and I would appreciate advice on the best home system we can get that would include a desktop and a laptop (with a docking station or just networked?) for our family to use. We do not have any 'heavy' uses, but my kids enjoy some gaming and may use it for that more in the next few years. I would like good graphics for video, good processing etc. Old system is so old we did not have easy cloud storage options so we had a good amount of local storage. Should I do this again? I would rather not get the pre-packaged at Best Buy since I can do some configuring/building myself (unless that is the best choice.) We have a couple of decent desktop monitors already. And I would like to network on the kid's PC which is running windows 10.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated to make sure family does not go into revolt...

Hmm. For the main system, I'm thinking something like this- VR capable, will breeze along with multiple monitors, responsive, quiet, and be able to give a family room.

For a laptop, I'm not so sure but this is a pretty good deal.

This is very strong build for gaming.
You can use your old HDD.
Get that laptop best configuration for that price. NVIDIA 940MX is huge improvement over NVIDIA 940M. So, if you get that laptop check its spec on the box and confirm if it is 940MX or 940M.
