Hi,
i would like to know which CPU to buy (atm have i5 10600) that will give me the maximum at csgo (i dont play other games)
i use:
GPU currently: GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming X Trio
RAM: 2x8GB @ 3200MHz CL16 DDR4
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z490-G GAMING LGA1200, Intel Z490
btw i check around and csgo use 4 cores to run the game and its 1080p not 2\4k
i read that the i7 10700k is the best option which gives 3.8ghz. but the i5 10600k gives 4.1ghz which is faster and anyway i dont use the all 6 cores. so which cpu should i buy?
thanks

Solution
Base clock is not entirely relevant, as if you have a Z490 board, an MCE-enabled, and good cooling for your 10600K, you'd likely be at ~4.7-4.9 GHz (or should be with a few clicks within BIOS or within Intel's XTU app) on all cores anyway.

(I realize high FPS with CSGO is the rage, but, one would be hard pressed to say 450-500 fps is inadequate vs. the 600-650 fps with the latest Ryzens...)

Hello there!
If you play only CS:GO yes you'd be fine with i5 and that GPU is also good if you plan to play at 1080p, yes you'd get more fps from i7 but not worth it as you are not gonna use more than 4~5 cores
