Which would be the best CPU for mostly gaming and maybe some video editing with 16GB RAM and GTX 1050Ti but for under £100?

What motherboard do you have? If you have a 100 or 200 series board you have to stick with 6th and 7th gen cpus. If you have a 300 series board you have to get an 8th gen cpu.

If the OP is using a 100 or 200 series board(socket 1151) then an i3 8100 will not work.
