Best Linux OS for my old Dell Laptop

I've got a five year old Dell Latitude D530 with 2GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 at 2Ghz. What would be a good linux OS to put on this computer that would work really nice?

You will never go wrong with Mint, or any _Ubuntu flavour.

Also core2 2.0ghz is not exactly 'old'. Will run pretty much any distribution just fine.

I am partial to XUbuntu which is lightweight and good for older computers. I think any of the Mint distros would work just fine too.

Get the latest version that is labelled "LTS" (long term support) to avoid having to upgrade.

I put Lubuntu on my Dell Mini, which had fairly lower-powered hardware even when it was new I think (at least 4 years old now, or more), and it goes fairly quick considering the Atom cpu and 1 gb of ram. It is a little less featured, but if you are looking for more functionality and speed vs. features, then it might be something to check out
