looking for the best performance graphics card for my build, I have not decided what cpu I will be getting, either I3 or some amd variation. The operating system may be a factor in the build, or it may not so feel free to factor it in or out of the price.

Solution

Dam man! I appreciate you posting a full build. I will def look into that! It has practically everything that I want

+1 to this - but if you like you can ditch the os and the optical drive to get a better gpu. and if you are not in dire need of a SSD you could just get an ordinary 1 tb hdd and invest the money on your gpu or a higher wattage psu.

and i think the ram are little bit overkill and just get a cheaper 1600 cl9 2x4gb kit.

and r7 265 = hd 7850 > gtx 650 ti boost > gtx 750 ti

So either one could generally run a game like day z fairly well and not suffer from graphic lag and all that?

Problem is I can't ditch the OS, I can't get it from a torrent cause I've gotten notices before in the mail warning me about torrents I've downloaded. It's my internet provider

What resolution is your monitor?

well that kinda suckz, but it is always good to be honest. i would have suggested to just DL a windows 8.1 and make a bootable usb flashdrive for you to format your pc.

but nvm. you can still get the r7 265 if you replace the ssd with a hdd and downgrade that 2133 ram to a cheaper 1600 cl9 ram.

1920 x 1080

alright thanks for the help man! If I decide amd ill go with the card you highly recommended the R7 265, and if I go with intel i'll get the 750ti

I mean, it would really save the budget if I could get the OS torrented, do you have any other ideas of how I could get it? I had a person I was talking to today suggesting that if you download from a public wifi, they can't really track it. Is this true or?

Definitely keep AA off or use AA like FXAA etc. I don't recommend MSAA for the 750ti, maybe 2x MSAA if you don't mind the compromise in performance. With AA off or FXAA, you can run most games with High or Ultra textures. But, you have to lower almost everything else, shadows etc. It's a balancing act, you have to figure out for yourself which types of eyecandy settings you notice during gameplay, that you're willing to compromise on.

If you had to put your money on it would you buy this build for 500$ if the purpose was for HD streaming, Gaming, video editing, homework? Would you edit it in any way shape or form. To get the most out of your money

That build is as good as it gets for $500.

But, let me factor in using the Windows 10 preview. It's free for a while just like when 7 and 8 were in beta.

The extra $100 goes a long way:

Have you looked at the (lack of) VRMs on that motherboard? I would barely trust it with a Pentium, let alone an i5 or i7. That motherboard = zero upgrade.

I'm looking at the phases on that board and it's 3+1.

860K @4.5GHz is just as fast as the locked Haswell i5s, but cheaper.

i have to disagree that an 860k @ 4.5 ghz is as fast as any 4th gen i5 out there.
