Best mini-motherboard with a PCI-Ex1 and HDMI

Hey guys,

my friends want me to build a computer part list for his needs, but now im unlucky to find what i think there would of been on the market.

he wants a small computer to fit behind his tv stand to stream internet documentary videos on his tv but also have a TV tuner that can record is OTA channels. (but they only come in PCI-Express x1 or PCI.

and i was trying to find a Mini-ITX motherboard that had one PCI-Ex1 but no luck. they only have PCI-e 3.0x16 or 2.0.

can you guys help me find a motherboard that as a HDMI so probably a Z77 or Z68 chipset to support a CPU built in GPU and a Pcie x1 on it.

Price: No budget.. just help me find one that has the requirements that im looking for since i cant seen to find some.

Now if you only need x1 PCIe it (cards) can be installed on any PCIe slots: x16/x8/x4 and obviously x1. PCIe 3.0 requires an Ivy Bridge CPU, and the PCIe 3.0 x16 can switch all the way down to PCIe 2.0 x1.

The best MINI-ITX is the over the top ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe and yep (1) one PCI Express 3.0 x16. The limitations are the form factor.

hey there,

thx for some reply. ive also just check and x16 is backward compatible to x8, x4 and x1. so my TV tuner card X1 would fit in the x16 on the ITX. since im porbably going with ether a Ivy-bridge or Sandy with intergrated video processor. i will be able to use the HDMI to bring it to a HD TV LED to streams videos and also record Of the Air shows,

and yes that was the ITX Asus P8Z77-I deluxe i was looking at.

For a purely HTPC use then I really don't recommend the ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe and further if there's no discrete GPU then I'd be looking at an AMD Llano APU solution. The ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe is meant for a HTPC/Gaming solution (Discrete GPU added) with an Ivy Bridge (K) CPU. The other issue is heat which translates into 'noise' so I'd also look at the MOBO/CPU/VGA solutions.
