I am looking for a gaming monitor to use with my XBOX Series X and it would be awesome if I could also use it with my two year old DELL G7 7500 laptop which has:
CPU: Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz (12CPUs Threads)
RAM: 32GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
I know the Dell ain't going to push 4k 144hz but I am just wanting to make sure If I get a monitor that will use all the XBOX Series X features, will it still work for my laptop at 1080p HD 144hz? The laptop screen is 144hz.
I would love to have a bigger screen as I am getting older and I game a bit on the laptop but nothing crazy like COD or Tarkov, just stuff like Battletech, project zomboid, and RTS stuff like WARNO. Maybe a slight bit of Ready or Not or War of Rights. But I am not trying to play on max settings. 60fps and above is fine with me for those.
I have been out of the PC build, parts loop for too long and I have no idea if you get a powerful monitor that maybe my graphics card won't even work with it. Or can I change resolution and settings?
So I am wondering if I get a sub $300 monitor that supports 1440, or 4k, freesync, at least 144 or 165mhz will it be ok to use with this laptop too?
I have a mini display port and HDMI on my G7.
What do you y'all think?
