Best motherboard for i5-6500

Hello.

I am looking to buy an i5-6500 but I will need to buy a new motherboard and RAM with it but I do not know what to get that suits my needs.

I do not want to overclock and I would like to use the onboard sound card a I have a basic 2.1 setup that does me good.

I have a budget of £300 for these three parts. I would preferably like 16GB RAM but if it is too much then 8GB can do for the time being - I know this is the wrong forum to ask but does a heat spreader actually do anything? I have seen that RAM without them are cheaper.

I have to apologies for asking what must be a daft question for you all but I truly have no clue about motherboards and what makes one better then another.
