I am going to build another computer soon, I know exactly what I am gonna get, but when it comes to selection of video card, ???? I am lost..... There are so many of them for less $150. from geforce2 to geforce4 and ati radeon.
Right now on my system I am using the old radeon LE 32mb ddr flashed to retail ddr version. I am using rage3d tweak to overclock the card, but still I think it is not a very good card. I only played one game, counter strike and few days ago I installed Counter Strike Extreme. Guess what ?? now the picture are so lagging....... Since I am going to build another computer, so I am looking for a video card less than $150 (The lesser the better) cause I am on a budget. After checking on the net I could possibly get a radeon 7500 or maybe 8500, geforce TI200, geforce4 MX440. Which one has the best overal compared to each other?? One more question, What is the difference between geforce mx GPU than the regular Geforce other than the core speed?? why are there so much different in price and performance?
Any suggestion fellas ???

yeah same here. Go with 8500LE. It's around $135 on the internet (check newegg.com). Plus it's directx 8.1 and supports features similar to geforce3 like vertext shader. The geforce mx series are the graphic card for budget users, it's clocked slower than the regular and also doesn't have some features.

Note, the R8500LE 128MB is the one that has the BGA RAM, not the 64MB version.

Yes, all 128MB R8500 have BGA RAM but some 64MB R8500 also have BGA. Confusing, I know!

I see, Seems like everybody is going for Radeon 8500LE, But the 128mb version are far over $150. Now, how about Geforce3 TI 128MB?? I saw on pricewatch.com $130 from MSI (RETAIL). How about Radeon 8500 64mb retail?? I saw on local bestbuy last week for $150 with rebate! Which will performe better and has better overall value?? I am going to keep this card maybe for the next 1-2 years, So I am going to get a gpu that will last for a while...
anybody???

Get the 8500. It's running about 145 retail on some sites.

Avoid the GF4MX. A Ti200 or 8500 is better.

The 8500LE most people are recomending is the 64 MB version, not the 128 MB version.

Don't bother with 128, as it's not realy worth it.
