I have a Gateway GT4010 which has the following:

Athlon 64 3500+
2 x 512 DDR Ram
200GB hard drive
DVD+/-RW
13 in 1 card reader
Ethernet card

I can take out the ethernet card. But without having to upgrade my PSU, what is the best video card I can buy. I am trying to hold off of building a new rig until next year. Thanks.

Probably a 7600GT or an X1600Pro. The 7600GT is better, though. Gateway PSUs are usually underrated.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping for coz I wanted to get a 7600GT. Will order 1 very soon.

Just found out from Gateway that my+12 rail can only get 15amp max. Will that be a problem if I get the 7600GT?

Better have a High Rail 12v for that 7600GT if 300watts.
You can get a cheaper 500w for $39 or so if you search.
I have a cheapo and it's held up well.
(That Bestec 300w PSU that comes with most Compaq's and E Mac's are kinda short for the long haul. Trust me, I know!)
Just make sure it's built well and has all the major connections.
(tether wrapped cords if possible)
Usually the Mom n pop shops have the better deals on those as opposed to Comp USA where the avg joe psu runs ya $65 no matter what.
