Best PCIe Wireless Card Antenna Position?

Greetings,

I have a wireless card.

What you thought there would be more? Hahaha no.

I just would like to know the best position my antennae should be in for optimal performance. Currently, I only get max 3 out of 5 bars and, for example, on CS:GO and World of Tanks I get around 40-70ms ping normally but it will often spike up to 550ms (CS:GO) or 999ms (WoT) a littlw too often. I plan to install an Ethernet cable that runs from my computer to my router but that will be a while away. Here is my device:

Best position: the one that gets you the best signal.

But seriously... try different combinations. Also move your computer if needed to put less obstacles between it and your router. There is no 'best' position, only what position works best for you.

Also be sure your router is not obstructed by metal objects or other electronics. It's also better if it's up high rather than on the floor.

This is the huge problem with internal wireless cards. The antenna is located right next to your computer case which does a excellent job of blocking the signal. So you want the back of the computer to face your router. Many people stuff the computer under a desk against a wall. This blocks the signal from almost all sides.

They do make extension antenna cables that allow you to place the antenna on top but if you can face your current antenna toward the router it will likely work just as well.
