Can someone please give me the best possible setup for gaming right now ? Not sure if I'll go for 2k / 4k resolution or 1080p.

And is the gtx 1080 in sli worth ? Please write down a setup including the ram , motherboard , etc.

Thanks

There are some great build examples here for different price ranges:

I would only add that if a monitor purchase is part of the new system, that you approach adaptive sync equipped monitors (Gsync for Nvidia GPUs, FreeSync for AMD GPUs) as a package with the GPU choice(s).

http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/freesync

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync

It is impossible to have the 'best' gaming setup without them, and the technology as a whole helps keep you gaming smoothly certainly in the short term, but also allows you to not be bothered as much by your aging hardware as games become more demanding over time.

I am sure that is not needed. He could save some money for let's say a new room in his apartment designed specifically for gaming....

True, but that is why I chose 2 x SM961 1TB M2 drives on an ASUS Z170-WS motherboard. Unfortunately I can not use PC PartPicker to show my system (but it is my signature), as they take a while to list new parts. I am using the system in my signature, and it is a dual purpose system for gaming and software development. Everyone has their own ideal system, and they are almost never the same. For my purposes, I use a networked Synology DS216Play with 2 x 4TB Caviar Red drives to archive and stream.

LOL, may I ask why in the world your recommending the Maxwell GTX Titan X?

for those vram... what else would you SLI?

Well sure, the Titan X has a lot of VRAM but the GTX 1080 has plenty of VRAM aswell. Dual GTX 1080s in SLI will not use all 8GBs of VRAM, let alone 12.

Plus, your wasting a lot of money, this config is much better optimized (if you had a $5000 budget):

As I mentioned above you don't SLI 1080 reference cards....

That makes no sense. It's still far faster than a Titan X. It takes three GTX titan X's to equal two GTX 1080s in SLI. Just because it's named (xx80) doesn't mean it's bad.

I would wait for 1080ti personally. But if people are being picky just replace with 1080sli. Or get another 1080sli pc alongside titan x sli.

I had in mind to go for a 4k monitor along with the 1080 in sli . Can you recommend me a motherboard and a power supply from www.ultramalta.com or www.simarksupplies.com or www.scanmalta.com

And recommend a monitor as well.

Thanks

True. Though a GTX 1080 is still lightning quick, I find it hard that people will need a GTX 1080 TI until next year.

Buy>Monitor>Sort price from High to Low>Pick the highest>Buy

again what is your budget?

Budget is not an issue at the moment. I just want the best cpu , gpus and motherboard there is. Other components I'll figure that out my self. Choose a monitor as well from the websites i provided.

Thanks

he is going for a 4K 1080 SLI so can't you see? He is riiiiiiiiich he has no limit on buddgettttttt

Just find one that is Gsync equipped, and go with that.
