Best possible processor for my old motherboard?

Wondering what the best possible processor I can install on my (crusty, old) motherboard is. It's an Asus p5q-em. Currently using an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 on it. I don't expect to be able to use an i7 on it or anything, just not sure how to figure out what the BEST one I could use on it is. Thanks for reading!

I would stay with the Q6600, there is nothing significantly better for you. Your best bet is to overclock it to get more out of the Q6600 -- I ran one for years at 3GHz.
