Best Program for beginner Graphics design

I was wondering, since im heading into graphics design in a few years, if there were free programs easy to use for beginners. I want to know if im heading into the right career path and this might help me make my decision.

A lot depends on what, specifically you're looking to do. A lot can change 'in a few years'.

A lot depends on what, specifically you're looking to do. A lot can change 'in a few years'.

Inkscape is only 2D vector. He's probably looking into more of 3D graphic design (though he didn't really specify).

Are you an artist? Can you draw? Do you love to draw? What was the last thing you drew, and when?
What tool you use matters far less than the vision in your head.

All the tools listed above are free. Download a few. Try them. Play with them.
