i know the 550gold will be enough for the system , but does it will safe for my cpu OC , i play games almost 10 hours/day.....?
what about the 650 w , is it to much overkill ?
my thinking is , with 10 years warranty.... i think i should go for the 650 w . what the good&bad do i get from 550 or 650 watt for performance n endurance'

Don’t use those online calculators, they’re horrible for overestimating.

Here is the power consumption of a similar system while gaming: https://www.bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/graphics/evga-geforce-gtx-650-1gb-review/8/ about 110w when we factor psu efficiency. So at max, even with overclocking, your system will stay under 300w.

A 400w power supply is fine. You get no benefits from a higher capacity power supply, possibly just more noise, unless you plan to upgrade to a higher end graphics card.

Look at the be Quiet Pure Power 10 400w+, Corsair CX450M, Corsair CX450, Cooler Master MasterWatt, for budget oriented options. A top quality power supply isn’t really needed with such build, though if you want then Bitfenix Whisper and Bitfenix Formula are high quality, quiet options.

@rexper ...... so , between bitfenix 550whisperM n seasonic focus gold 550 ...... which one better for performance n lifetime .
note : in my country seasonic 550 is less cheaper than the bitfenix one n come with 10 years warranty . thats why i choose seasonic . i really dont want headache from psu problem again ... my old one is cx500, i want try a better one . i read all over the net that psu is the most important part of a pc . so i need to pick the best that my system needed plus a few more tobe safe n for upgrade path n lifetime .

The Bitfenix Whisper has better connectors, quieter since it doesn’t have that semi-passive fan mode, and multiple 12v rails. Electrically, they are both very good. Overall I’d say the Whisper is better. But if the Focus is cheaper, that is very fine option too.

Warranty doesn’t mean much after 5 years, because you don’t know if the company will still be in business.
