Best quiet cpu cooler in nzxt h440 case

So guys im going to be upgrading the xigmatek dark knight air cooler i got for my cpu. Im deciding between the Noctua D-15, U14s, Nzxt X61, and corsair H100i gtx.

My current build is within a NZXT H440 Case running stock fans, an Intel I5 4679k overclocked to 4.5Ghz and theres a Gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gamnng generating a bit of extra heat. Silence is Crucial for me but looks are important too as this is a windowed case.

The D15 will prolbaby hide the majority of my upper motherboard though, and tbh i dont know how well the brown noctua fans would go with my red/black themed inner build.

Is this as silent as the D15? Probably not. Best aircooler on the market though and it is quiet. Colors would probably fit your idea.

But how much quieter is the D15 as opposed to the X61 in real life performance because the x61 is one really nice looking.

Hello,

If the silence is what you want, the aforementioned air coolers are the way to go. Stock liquid coolers are noisy (and Corsair H100i is VERY noisy at full speed). A better cooler is Swiftech H240-X (up to 5 C better than Noctua), but it's almost twice as expensive as the Noctua NH-D15 (the noise is a little bit higher also).

For a dead-silent system, you must go for a custom waterloop (prepare to fork close to 500 USD though and be sure you have good DIY skills).

I see you guys really favour air cooling so i think i've narrowed it down to the d15 and the X61 just because based on reviews it cools better than the D15 and it's only a tad noiser than the d15 accoring to TechUploaded's review on the product

Well i have 2 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Ram sticks in there which are 40mm tall sooo... i would think that's tall for ram:")

But yeah i was looking at the the Dark Rock Pro 3 as one of the cooling options but i was drawn away by all the critisism it recieved by builders when it came to installing it.

So in the end I've decided to go with an AIO liquid cooler, the NZXT X61 because a friend brought along his old D-14 to see how it would look in the case and it ended up hogging a large portion of the window. Thanks for all your replies tho. I had fun learning about a few new coolers like the Cryorig ones.
