Question Best RAM speed for Ryzen 5 2600

I got a Ryzen 5 2600 and looking to upgrade from a single 8gb 2666mhz stick to 2x8gb. So, what can R5 2600 handle? Mbo is Asus a320m-k prime. Im still getting very mixed answers, quite confused

The board supports 3200mhz max.
And honestly i wouldnt even try pushing more on a zen 2 chip,since you will see little benefit for speeds higher than 3200mhz on R5 2600

If it's just a 2x8GB kit, 3200 CL16 is a good mix for budget and speed. If you need 32GB, running 2x16GB will usually have trouble at 3200 with a Ryzen 2000 CPU (Zen+ Cores, code named Pinnacle Ridge) and will more likely be stuck with 2933/3000 CL14 to CL16. I wouldn't invest in more expensive CL14 modules, because you will only gain at most 3-5fps which you are unlikely to notice when gaming.

2933 upwards is going to be fine.

You'll see a fair performance gain just going to dual channel from single without even considering the speed upgrade.

Choosing ram is hard work when it comes to price vs performance, sometimes the speed and latency gain isn't worth the extra financial outlay it incurs.

Also the fact that some ram can be tinkered with settings wise to outperform more expensive higher speed and lower latency sticks (I have patriot viper 2800 here,that once overclocked outperforms my 3200mhz corsair ram) - although on a 320 series board your manual tinkering options are likely fairly limited.

There is so much choice out there, your actual location and ram availability would dictate the choice in my opinion.

I have no need for a 32gb kit, im still a week out from making the purchase, but ive been looking at this:

Not from Amazon though, i would buy it from a store here at around the same price. I found this RAM on my MBO list of compatible RAM.

The price is not comparable, as i am in Croatia, im looking at this kit at my local retailer

I found this kit on my mbo list of compatible RAM, for gaming i think itll do quite alright. Seeing as i have the most basic mbo, im looking for something that will run out of the box
