I'm currently using my gaming pc to do some Ethereum mining when it's not active (using nicehash). I'm fully aware I won't be making major money doing this, but the topic interests me and I really wanted to try it out. I'm using the Sapphire RX 480 8gb (stock model), and I was wondering if anyone knows which settings would be optimal for such use, and how I can change them?

Solution

I undervolted my RX 480 by 62 mV in MSI Afterburner, turned down the core clock from 1300 -> 1015 Mhz to compensate and turned up the Memory Clock to 1900 Mhz (I heard this improves hash rate).

You learn how to do all this with MSI afterburner here:

Temps are around 69 Degrees constantly with 50% fan speed, consumes about 80 watts and has 24 MH/s on NiceHash with optimal algorithms. This earns me about £3.12 per day if I were to leave it on 24/7.
