i need the best single rad cooler there is, please, since my case doesnt support dual radiators, here is my specs:

CPU: intel core i5 4690k (will overclock)

MOBO: asrock z97 extreme6

GPU: Gigabyte g1 gtx 970 gaming

PSU: EVGA G2 850w (750 is more than enough but they cost the same lol)

RAM: corsair vengeance pro 8gb

HDD: wd blue 1tb

SSD: samsung 840 evo 120gb

So whats the best single rad? Specs and benchmarks/comparisons will be nice, thanks

I was just complaining, how Noctuas are ugly, and You're right. But they're the best. And h80i is crap-pile compared to NH-D14/D15, total piece of sh*t.

Actually, there's not a single one "good" single-rad cpu cooler out there on the market. They're all about looks, but never about performance/durability.

It's like, no one is even given a chance to compete with Noctuas :\

Phanteks are awesome and beautiful, I use them in show-off builds, e.g. when I use white case, like Bitfenix Prodigy/Prodigy-M and others, they create beautiful coolers, but I've never managed to get better cooling perf. with them, than with Noctuas. I know, tests say otherwise, but this is just my experience :/

faalin - hi there. So in general, I don't know that brand, that Silenx stuff is better than Noctua? I love the design of them, red and black. Would try to pruchase them, just spit out over 120 euro for Noctuas now, so wouln't want to go for something inferior.

op - sorry for hijacking Your thread, just didn't want to establish a new one.

spec wise they compare very close to each other, but when they are cranked up to full speed you can tell the SilenX are a little quitter. Plus the Noctua fans just did not look good inside my case. They really need to make different colors, they are good fans and ill reuse them in another case that I don't care about what it looks like. But when you have a red and black themed case the tan/brown really throws a wrench into it.

I had a look at the phantek cooler and it almost makes me what to buy one in ether the red or black, but I don't what to rip my computer apart just for a cooler color change.

TheafricanDude I hope you do that and post back, it would be nice to know how these to stack up against each other. It might make me change coolers since the only thing inside my case that doesn't match is the cooler now.

Ive used SilenX fans in a few build before so I want worried about their quality, for the majority of the build I used corsair fans. I have 2 120mm in front, one in the rear. and 2 140mm on the top of my case, one on the side panel and one on the bottom of the case. So in total 7 corsair fans and 2 SilenX. Corsair fans would not fit the cpu cooler, they have a different mount system that just would not allow it with out some modding involved and I just didn't fell like it at the time.

Lol Dont worry about highjacking my thread, i love to learn other things, so continue, haha, and yeah, for my first build im going to take the phanteks ph tc 12dx, because it will go will with my asrock z97 extreme6 and the blue ram, ill test the noctua after that, and then the watercoolers

The loudest part of my computer is the 6TB WD red drive I have for all my games. I used all of Corsairs quite fans so you can even hear them spinning.

Here is my build in my sig

Don't mind the cable mess, need to ad a few more zip ties to the 24 pin and pci-e cable to make them a little neater. But yeah on a lower fan speed the system stays nice and cool.

now if I only had the balls to open up my 980 and change the green led's to red ones 🙁

Guys Keep following this thread, i will let yall know when i have built my rig, and ill make a youtube channel and tell you guys, sonthat you can check out my rig, and also the comparisons ill do on things when i get sponsers, like if gigabyte sends me review cards and so on :)
