My wife wants a smart watch. I know nothing about them. I thought Samsung & Google were the only people that made them, but I have discovered there are a lot of smart watches out there.

My wife wants one that will sync with her phone, so she doesn't have to dig though her purse if she hears a beep.

So I plan on getting her a smart watch for Christmas, I'm thinking maximum price around $350

Any recommendations?

i don't personally have any experience with these, but my sister and her hubby both have Samsung versions and they seem to like them. not really a ringing endorsement but all i can really offer :)

I just can't make up my mind. I have a Pixel 7 phone and trying to decide on a smart watch: Pixel 3 or Samsung 7.

I understand that by linking a Samsung watch to a Pixel phone you lose a few Samsung specific goodies; which may not be much of a problem. I had a samsung watch 4 which turned into a brick not keeping up with Android versions. I liked the Samsung Pay over Google's, but is that enough to choose Samsung? I've read many reviews and comparisons and the verdict is still out.

I just returned a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar back to Garmin. I liked Garmin for the solar and battery life, but found the watch overly complicated and I like an analogue display option. It's a pain to be charging a watch daily. So I was thinking of breaking the bank and going for the Samsung 7 Ultra;) which gets a little longer between charges. I wonder which one would last longer in terms of Android version updates.
