Best smartphone replacement for iphone 4 user?

I've been using a iphone 4 since the release which was about 3 years ago. It's time for me to buy a new one as a replacement to my old iphone 4
It has to have a nice design preferably not plastic. I really like the htc one because of it's design and features. But there are obviously a lot more smartphones out there that have the same specs and design for a cheaper price.
Price range is 400-650 euro the less the better 😉

HTC and Samsung are the two best manufactures for Android. The Galaxy S5 and the HTC One are the flagship phones and are really fantastic devices. If you want a larger "phablet", then go with the Note 4. The phones are comparable in nearly every way with one exception, the camera. Samsung hands down has the very best camera.

Also, I hate all things Apple....
