If I just get a cheap motherboard audio what is the least I would need to pay to surpass motherboard audio?

If you keep an eye on the Creative store, the Sound Blaster Z frequently drops to around $60. I got one to replace my X-Fi Xtreme Gamer due to non-working Windows 10 drivers. Was not disappointed. It is pretty much the same.
