I would only be using it for Windows and maybe a few small games, so it doesn't need to be huge. Any help is appreciated!

120/128G is what you should buy. yes, you can find a 60/64G for just a few bucks less, but a typical Win7/8 installation will use up 30-45 without batting an eye, so really do go 120/128.

Mushkin ECO is kinda close in price - was on ShellShocker today in Canada at least. i have the Chronos G2 and it's great. and a Silicon Power S70. an Adata SX900, though that's a bit more pricey. a Corsair Force3 but that's old and 60G, but still works well for very light storage. heck, even the Kingston V300 should be fine even though it's not as great as the initial reviews (due to manufacturing change)

There are 3 - 120/128gb SSDs for just under $50. If $50 is your real limit, you'll want to get a 120/128gb. 64gb SSDs are a relic of old pricing, as they -used- to cost $100, and thus fit a price point.

The 120/128gbs are at $49.50 or $49.99 type pricing. The cheapest 60/64gb you can find is $40. You're not saving much to lose a lot of space.

The customary notion with Windows is you should expect it to take up 30gb as an easy number. On a 60/64gb, this would be enough space for 1 or 2 games. On a 120/128, now you have real space.

[prices are from NewEgg/BestBuy/Amazon]

With that out of the way, here are the 3:

Mushkin ECO2 120gb 2.5" SSD *TLDR Recommendation*
A-Data Premier Pro SP600 128GB 2.5" SSD
PNY CS1111 120GB 2.5" SSD

The A-Data one has the most consistent price. The other 2 are on promotionals bringing them below $50. You can view their price histories on the pages linked as well.

In terms of performance, you have 2 key speeds in a SSD - Read, and Write. For loading windows and playing games, it's all about the read. For installing things, it's about the write. Unfortunately, that's where the simplicity ends. Then you start getting into size, and I don't mean storage size.

The Mushkin Eco2 just launched this month (March 2015), and they are fast. I'd recommend that one.

Looks promising. Thanks for the reply.
