I was planning to get the Biostar M7NCD Pro, but was told by a veteran of these boards to avoid Biostar like "a hooker with AIDS".

So I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good value mobo for an Athlon XP 2800 that won't break the bank, and that will provide good performance and stability?

I was considering the Abit NF7, but am open to any recommendations from people with more experience!

As always, TIA.

peepel will tell you what they use, not what is the best, so you'll have lots of "friendly" advizez, so from what I read/tried/used/using/willuse I find Epox and MSI boards to be the most trouble free.

Go for ABIT NF7 v2.0 (or NF7-S v2.0). I have one and it works great!

I believe I've seen the NF7-S in the mid 90's.

listen to peepel that have good luck with hardware and if you don't mind fan on mobo get it and be happy, they all (kind of) do the same (have the same chipset😉

PS: I personally chose 8rda over abit caz it has no fan, otherwize abit is a good value too
