Hello, i just upgraded my Windows 11 to 22H2. and guess what -- microsoft dudes decided to put an end to the "taskbar on top" hack. Without going into details it was a very simple modification that allowed Windows owners users to simply add the taskbar on top. so i'm looking for a customizable taskbar replacement. i'm not looking for an eye candy thing. of course if it's eye candy the better. but the only thing i need is to have the taskbar on top, and accessible with zero click (mouse over). Thank you. oh and of course the lighter, the better 😑

Appears to be something that Microsoft decided to no longer allow.

Do not attempt any registry edits. Registry editing is a last resort and should only be done as a last resort after a full backup of the system and the registry.

However, if you are in "last resort" mode then:

I will defer to others who may have attempted the "hack" and can offer other comments, suggestions, or solutions.

yeah, i don't understand why MS doesn't get how useful that feature is. i have two positions on my PC. one with the seat a bit higher for work. and another one a bit lower for relaxing, gaming ,and web roaming. and the bar on top is absolutely cruclal in my case. in gaming position, i simply don't see the taskbar as it is occulted by the desktop. However i found an app that seems to do the job. i say seem cause with that kind of program you need to test over weeks. it's called winLaunch, and apparently icing on cake it's open source

here https://winlaunch.org/

if the test is conclusive, no doubt i'll give to their patreon
