I recently upgraded my gaming system from a Ryzen 1800x and 1080ti to a Ryzen 9800x3d and 5070ti. My old system had Windows 10 and 1TB NVME. I bought a new nvme drive with 4TB and put Windows 11 on it. When I turn on my new system, reload Steam, will I get my old saves from my steam games? For example, on No Mans Sky, I have over 300hrs played and my saved game. Will I be able to start off where I left off or do I have to take my old nvme drive and put in my new system?

If you yet have your older system up and running, move your steam folder away from the OS drive, preferably onto another physical drive. As for your game's save files, that depends on the game devs though the following links are worthwhile reads;

It should be on Steam's Cloud Storage, if so then have a read through this;

For those Steam games that don't have a cloud saving system.

Bring up Steam as if you were going to play the game, while your selected in Steam Library as if you were going to hit play instead right under the PLAY tab there is a store page link click it.

Now your on the store page but still for the game your going to play.

Under where it says.

STORE------LIBRARY-----COMMUNITY----

In small writing is the info we need. It says the folder string of number that holds your game saves.

That folder is in program x86 / Steam / User / another couple of folders with a string for the title.

Look in one or the other folder and match that string of numbers to the ones on the store page I had you open for the game you want to play.

Copy saves from there from OLD STEAM to new Steam.

It would be a good idea to reboot steam.

Game should boot up all saves intact from old Steam to new Steam.
