best timing?

does anybody know what the best timing on Ram is? Is the higher the number the better, or the oppisite?

if the lower the better how come there is really expensive ram from corsair that has timings of 5-5-5-12?

can anybody show me a link to ram that has timings of 3-3-3-12 or lower?

The sticky post at the top of the forum is your friend (you know, the one it says to read before posting?). From that, here is a link that will explain all:

The short answer is that the lower the latency the better, but the numbers you are referring to are only *relative* values, not *absolute* values. Relative values can only be directly compared at the same memory bus speed. That's why CL4 at DDR2-800 is equal to CL2 at DDR2-400.
