I haven't played or used my pc in years but my friend convinced me to fire it back up to crossplay war zone with him on his ps4. Didn't realize a cod game would be so difficult to run but I get a very choppy 30fps on lowest possible settings 1080p so I need to upgrade my pc some way or another. Heres the specs:

AMD FX 8350 @4.4
r9 280x @ 1170 & 1580 (core clock and memory clock)
16gb ddr3 1600mhz
1TB western digital blue hdd
corsair 750w bronze psu
Asrock B85m MOBO

What upgrade should I make?
Willing to spend around 200usd and im fine with buying used. Thanks!

Hey,
Your PSU, CPU, and RAM are fine for playing COD. I would suggest getting a better GPU and if you have the budget, an SSD. Personally, I think the GTX 1650 is a fine choice for playing COD. This should be able to run medium to high settings 1080p at around 60-80 fps. If you have the budget, you can spring for a cheap SSD that can increase performance from a hard drive.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Do you think i should put the whole game on a ssd? Given that its something like 100gb is it worth the performance boost?

Also I found a gtx970 on craigslist for $100 do you think it will do the job?

Also I looked up some benchmarks comparing the 1650 to the similarly priced rx580 and the amd one seems to be faster in most games would you recommend that instead?
The RX 580 is also a great choice. I just chose the Nvidia because there's some known issues with drivers on AMD and the possibility of bottlenecking (pretty low chance). Although SSD's usually don't improve fps, it can really help with loading times. I'd say the extra 30 bucks for an SSD is worth it.

I would still spring for either the GTX 1650 or RX 580. The RX 580 will outperform the GTX 970 and the 1650 while performing similarly to the 970, is 5 years newer and is probably the better bet for the long run cause of warranties and drivers. 100 bucks for a 970 is a pretty good deal though.
