Hello everyone!
I need your recommendation to buy VA or AMVA monitor with deepest black levels and highest static contrast. Real one, measured in tests, not claimed by manufacturer.
My requirements are:
-VA panel
  • 27 inch for 1440p or 32 inch for 4K
  • Native 3000,1 static contrast ratio or higher
  • Deepest possible black levels
  • DCI-P3 color gamut
  • Does brightness matter?
I don't care about HDR and I will not do gaming on this monitor. It is just for watching content and general use. The monitor is most important part according to my needs. For me, it's important more than PC itself. I do like accurated and deep bright color with high contrast ratio. I don't to see black looks like gray on my monitor. I had samsung cg70, it was very good but I am looking for better options.

Do you recommend me to buy one of available monitors in the market or wait for upcoming monitors?

Thank you very much for reading,

Have a nice day

Well, VA isn't the way to go for the best blacks from my understanding. IPS or PLS are your typical backlit panels for professional color reproduction. VA is a good combination of response time and color reproduction. If you don't need high refresh rates, probably not something you need to look into.

OLED monitors are still in their infancy (for reasons), but OLED TVs are fairly common. They have the deepest blacks because there is no backlight. Sub-pixels are off for black. Sadly they only come in sizes of about 55" and up or below 13"

Kind of missed the boat, Dell had an OLED monitor for a bit. UP3017Q, it wasn't cheap, but probably still the best panel for blacks out there.

Alienware (Dell) is selling a 55" "Gaming" OLED "Monitor" Nvidia has a few in the 65" size.(I think ASUS has one as well)

I think if you hold off for a good chunk of this year more OLED options will start cropping up. I think ASUS is planning a 20ish inch panel soon.

How much do you want to spend?

I will wait for upcoming monitors, especially HP, Lenovo and Dell announced in CES 2019 new laptops with Oled and Amoled displays.

I don't have specific budget but I will not prefer 55 inch monitor. Yes it is good for gaming and watching movies on 4k resolution, but I do a lot of writing and I will have issus a pixel density, so I prefer smaller size.

VA panels generally will have the best blacks of any monitor panel other than OLED or something with a full array backlight. Not too many OLED panels for monitors yet, burn in is a big problem trying to use an OLED as a monitor too much static stuff like your taskbar or the HUD in a game.
I canceled my order of Oled TV last year due to the ((burning in)) issues. There are two laptops are coming this year with Amoled displays ( Lenovo yoga c730 and HP Spectre x360) and one with Oled display ( Dell XPS 15). And here we have some big questions: Which display is better? Amoled or Oled? Or they are the same?

From what I can tell, though the information is a bit dated, pretty much all your large OLED TVs are AMOLED. AM Stands for Active Matrix.

The other type of OLED display, which is likely cheaper to make, is Passive OLED are probably reserved for smaller devices. Most phones are AMOLED as well.
Thank you for information ☺
