So one of my friends might be giving me a custom PC that's a few years old. I'm not sure what most of the specs are other than the case and that it might come with a hard drive and some other stuff. I was thinking of maybe upgrading the GPU when I get it but am having trouble deciding between a few.

There's a Galaxy GTX 670 (Reference Cooler Version) for around $160, a Galaxy GTX 670 GC for around $173, an ASUS GTX 760 Direct CU II for $179, and an EVGA GTX 950 SC+ for $170.

I'm not sure which one to consider buying as my final decision. Is there any big performance differences between each card that are worth noting? Which is the best deal?

Also I am in Canada and our dollar sucks so yeah.

Any advice is appreciated.

950 is the newest so it might have the efficiency & driver advantage over older cards.

760 is minimum standard for demanding AAA games these days.

Performance wise, let say you play a current AAA game on high, if a card gives you 30 fps and the other gives you 34 fps, do you think it is "meaningful"?

The 760 consumes up to 225W vs 950 consumes only 95W. The aging PSU in your system is something you have to take into account.

And some food for thought for: would you rather be spending $170 on a card that is good for medium setting for 12 months, or $375 on a card that is good for high to medium setting for another 3 years?
