I decided to buy a Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 gaming 4gb and since my poor Athlon II X4 620 will give me a huge bottleneck in almost everything nowadays I want to also pick a budget CPU-Mobo just able enough to let my GPU give its 100% in almost every gaming situation.
So here is a list of combos I can afford and their price in my country:
Intel Pentium G3258+Asrock H97=155€ (+40€ the cost of good cooler in my country if needed for overclocking)
i3-4170+Asrock H97= 205€
Athlon X4 860K+Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM=165€ (+40€ the cost of good cooler in my country if needed for overclocking)
FX-6300 3.5GHZ+Asrock 970 PRO3=195€ (+40€ the cost of a good cooler in my country if needed for overclocking)
FX-6350 3.9GHZ +Asrock 970 PRO3=220€ (Too much if a good cooler is needed as extra right away and take in mind that it's also a 125w socket)
FX-8300 3.30GHZ+Asrock 970 PRO3=228€ (Too much if a good cooler is needed as extra right away)
Take in mind the following priorities in no specific order though.
1) I need better gaming performance paired with the 380 strictly @1080p resolution! I can't change to 1440p to lift some pressure from the CPU towards the GPU. I play almost everything except CPU depending MMOs.
2) I have a new 600w but of questionable quality PSU(Cooler Master B600 v2.0) so in case the CPU needs or depends heavily on overclocking to be compared agaisnt more expensive options take also in mind its power consumption and the extra 200W that I will also need to run the R9 380 in full load. I guess my limit is an 125W prossessor in stock times or maybe just a little overclocked.
3) If the CPU is a great VFM but has a chance to give me in rare occations just a 1-5% bottleneck It's fine.
4) It would be great if I have upgrade options in the future without changing the motherboard.
So what do you think?
I know that a better combination is definitely an i5-4460 with an Asrock H97 but that combo costs in total 290€ in my country and that price it's simply too much for me.
From my list to tell you the truth I lean towards the Intel's options because of their low power consumption and the option of changing either of those with an i5 or i7 in the future(after 3-4 years) but I'm very worried of their limited number of cores and their performance in the multicore depended games of the 2015 and upcoming years.
Can any of AMD's options achieve better performance overclocked(860K, FX 6300) or even in their stock times (FX 6350, FX 8300) from the Intel counterparts?
Are the multicore AMD processors more future proof agaist the 2-core from intel especialy since the Direct 12 as well as more multicore depending games are coming?
Thank you!
