Yo, so I have this ADATA SE770G external SSD that i have about 700g of stuff on there i need to get off. the drive is having some serious problems, slows my entire computer down and stuff just constantly keeps coming back after being deleted. the files and games and stuff in there is all technically working but the problem is any time i try to perform operations on the drive like moving or copying, the entire thing just locks up and the only way is to just unplug the thing - it even stops my pc from restarting until i unplug it. i just bought a new drive with space on it for the things i need to be saved, but have tried like 5-6 different data recovery tools and none of them have worked so far. cloning the disk seems to freeze it up and it'll report back saying media is removed or some other errors. zipping the folders to the new drive always ends in errors too. having trouble finding a program that will look at the structure of the drive and backup only certain folders, usually they just show me the whole partition.
i'm thinking of prying the case off of the thing and trying to connect it via sata rather than usb to maybe make it more stable, but its a smaller size than a regular ssd so i dont even know if its possible and i will have just broken it by taking it apart.
