[SOLVED] Best way to fresh install Windows?

Okay so I know how to fresh install windows, but I need some advice.

Im building a new PC (keeping the old drives). So new mobo, gpu, cpu, and psu.

The key I bought some years back was for Windows 10 Pro. I linked my license with my microsoft account but have upgraded to Windows 11 for free via an update.

Here are my questions.

• On my SD drive, do I need to use Windows 10 Pro since that is what my license is for or can I download the Windows 11 files to install?
• Will I need a new license or will the license linked to my account work on the new setup?
• Lastly, if I have to install windows 10 first, will I still be able to upgrade to windows 11 for free?

1. You can use your Windows 10 key for Windows 11
2. Depends if you have an OEM or Retail key of Windows
3. Moot point - you can install Windows 11.

I believe it was an OEM key like 5 yrs ago... Checked my email... no email... I think Im gonna have to buy a new one. No biggie, 22 bucks.

With OEM, and you get a new Mobo it will require a new License.
