Best way to see the lines!

I always wanted to notice those AG lines on Trinitron and AG monitors, I never could, my friend has PS790 and it's Aperature Grill monitor, at what resolution should I set it to see, notice those horizonal lines! and what background? what color? refresh rate? where will the be located?

No resolution. They are about a sixth of the screen from both the bottom and the top. But these are not on all Aperture Grill models, only those with Sony Tubes. (I think Dell tech support gets pissed off by the sheer number of calls they get about them). I don't see why you'd want to find them, though. (BTW,I currently use the LG Flatron 915FT Plus simply because of those lines. They got pretty annoying.).

If you find them, you'll start noticing them and they might start buggin ya! :)

OOOOH!! OOOH!! I KNOW!!!
...sorry

Those two lines stabilize the Aperture grill. Sonys need them to hold the position of the lines of the grill.

Just open up MS Word with a blank page. White backgrounds really make them stand out, although I never notice them when the screen is displaying anything other than solid white, unless I look for them of course.

My monitor has a really annoying one, and it's 3 pixles thick. Hate it. As I'm typing this right now I see it, even on teh gray! can't ait till I get my LCD!

Ummm...Why does Windows need to be in your monitor? That's really weird. Isn't it the same 15-pin connector?

No, so it nows what it's settinsg should be (color, refresh rate). Also apparently if it doesn't know your monitor it'll go to 60Hz when u run a full screen application. Really weird.

Eh - actually is more all the AG tubes except the Flatron  - AFAIK Sony and Diamondtron tubes (Mitsubishi?) have those "wonderful" lines - and yes, they are bloody annoying.
