Hey,

This is my current 5 year old pc
ASRock Z68 Pro3
i5 2500k
GTX 760
16gb ram running at 1333 MHz
550W PSU from Cooler Master
Some slow 1 tb HDD
I use 2 monitor. 1440p 144hz g-syn and 1080p basic monitor.

I am trying to upgrade my PC as it start to get old and it don't run games well anymore. I would like to know what is best approach to upgrade little by little over the upcoming year of 2018. For now i am thinking to get new motherboard and CPU and add new GPU later or other way round. Honestly i think my CPU is fine, but i wont want it to be the reason games dont run well.

I play mostly mmorpg like Black Desert, Tera and some FPS game like Rainbow six Siege. I wish my PC can get 100+ fps on 1440p monitor. At the moment i can play ok:ish on 1080p.

So, Should I just get gtx 1080 Ti and upgrade the rest later or, upgrade pc first then GPU later. By the time maybe there is even new line of graphic cards.

Any suggestion? I can use up to 1500euro over next year but would like not to use as much as possible.

Here is the 2500k against some of its newer editions at 1080p here.

I'd say a GTX 1080 will make you more then happy when playing newer games, and while your 2500k may bottleneck you a little at 1080p, this shouldn't be so much of an issue at 1440p. Though depending on what games and settings you play you will struggle to get 144fps+ for your monitor.

It depends on you but with RAM prices being so high at the moment hopefully waiting to upgrade the CPU, motherboard RAM ect. may end up cheaper if/when RAM prices come down.

Though you will need a new PSU for a GTX 1080 or 1080ti something around 750w+ will give you enough headroom.

Both a gtx 1080 and new PSU will put you at around 750 Euro new, so eating into most of your budget.
