Sup guys , I've bought my new rig and before I put all the pieces together I would like help to decided which is the currently best Windows version for gaming.
It's a really hard topic to find a conclusion about , I did some research here at forums and people really have a split opinion between 7 , 8.1 and 10.
Ultimately I know Win10 will probably be the best due DX12 , but so far I seen people talking about problems with drives and bugs.

So what you guys think , 7 HE , 8,1 (not Pro) or just go with 10 ?

It varies,

But I have no issues with drivers on win10, its getting more supported by the day

once you turned off all the hideous data collection its very good

Only the ridiculous scaling issue on win 10 that annoys me, having to correct scaling on almost all programs else they are blurry (when using DPI over 100% for blind people ;-) )

and as of in the next few months, well DX12......may as well get used to it now

I held off going to Win 10 as there were a lot of reports of performance problems in games but upgraded about a month ago as most were saying the issues were resolved. I have had zero problem gaming. My only gripe is I now have Win 10 on my Surface 3, Win 8.1 was far better on a tablet/touch screen

you are just asking for headaches with windows 10. My install worked fine for a few months then slowly at first I started getting bugs. One thing after another, no sound through speakers and no work around that works, files that won't delete, usb ports that stop working, and on and on. Windows 10 is far far far from being ready for prime time avoid at all costs unless you have an extra lifetime to waste trying to patch its legions of bugs.\\\
