What I have:

My current ISP service is 30mbps download and 5 mbps upload with Wave Broadband Business w Static IP. My Current Router is a EA2700 provided by Wave

Modem Speeds:

When I connect straight to modem (wired) I get those speeds sometimes higher with a 10ms ping (very consistent)

Router Speeds via Cat5e:

When I connect to my router via Cat5e I get at best 15 mbps down and 4 mbps up. I've never seen it higher with all the tests I have ran. Furthermore, the ping ranges from 90-580ms.

Router Speeds via N Wireless:

Average speed is 7mbps down and 2 mbps up.

The Problem:

When connected through the router my speeds and ping are horrible, downloading is brutally slow and my gaming is unplayable not to mention media streaming is unbearable.

My needs:

1 Desktop PC/ Server connected via Cat5e which I use for gaming (BF4, etc.) As a Plex home media server and is used for accessing Plex remotely for Media streaming.

3-Notebooks in the house all connecting via N wireless to connect and are used for basic stuff, browsing, email, youtube, local Plex playback, etc.

1-Google TV connected via Cat6 is used for local Plex Media Playback.

1-Xbox360 connected via wireless N and is used for online gaming and video playback.

4- Total Android Devices that all connect via wireless N (One is capable of AC)

With the aforementioned being said, what do you, the IT professionals of Tom's Hardware suggest as the best Router for my situation.

The issue of overhead comes into play in these kind of situations. Of course, connecting directly to your modem gives you the BEST speed and the REASON to yell at your ISP if there are any problems; however, with what the ISP provides just does not cut it, hence, we all use routers and switches.
When you connect a router to any modem, you are going to loose speed no matter what because the data packets have to be filtered by not only your PC, as well as the router. You seem like a very tech-savy individual, which means, you require a lot more data usage from others around here.
Try upgrading your speed from your ISP first before you change your router. And let us know!
