I currently own a 4070ti, 9800x3d, G-sync

In the last 2 games ive played (Jedi Survivor, and Forbidden West) I have noticed that I get much better frame rates if i use AMD FSR. This makes no real sense because I have an Nvidia card. I would think that DLSS / FrameGen ..etc should work better ?? I guess the answer would be it depends on the game ?

OK, I can admit, this may be a dumb question, so please..no flaming. Usually the CPU really doesn't matter in 4K gaming (1080 / 1440 yes..4K, not dramatically, its usually based off the GPU at that point). Does the 9800x3d (x3d cache) have anything to do with AMD FSR working better ??

Just curious...does anybody else that has Nvidia cards get better performance with AMD FSR ?

Fsr would only work if you're using Amd graphics which your cpu has. Would make sense for it to perform better with it on comparing to with it off. Makes me wonder where the video cable is connected to.

Video cable is plugged into the 4070ti..besides, the igpu in the 9800x3d is only an RDNA 2 (just like the Ryzen 7000. Not really great for gaming

FSR is GPU agnostic, it will run on any GPU. The performance of FSR vs. DLSS has more to do with the specific implementation of each by the game developer. There's many instances where one performs better than the other when they are both available. Visual quality is another aspect where they trade blows, again, depends on the dev, and what version of each is implemented.

Did you get higher framerate than using DLSS when using FSR on a NV graphics card? It sounds interesting.

FSR doesn't need an AMDGPU to run. Check it here.

Thank you..thats what i figured...(varies from game devs), just seeing if I was crazy
