Hello,

I build up my PC for HD Video Editing, not gaming at all. It's based on i5 7400 with 8GB ddr4 Crucial 2400 memory. I have an extra £80 to spend, therefore should I go for an extra 8GB Memory or some low profile GPU, like GeForce GT1030 2GB DDR5? What will make a bigger difference for video converting/editing software like Sony Vegas, Power Director etc...?

Thanks for your help

more ram

better cpu

I'm running an intel Core i5-6600k overclocked to 4.10 GHz with 16GB of RAM. I can easily play 2.4k or 4k video, but the conversion rate is really slow when converting to different formats. I don't think more RAM is going to help as I'm only using about 5.7 GB of ram when converting files whereas the CPU is MAXed out. I am following the thread to find out the same answer. I'm thinking the GPU will assist the CPU with some of the processing? Let me know what you come up with.
