Better GPU vs Better CPU

Good morning/evening/day/night,

I am piecing together my build soon, and I am unsure of this one last decision. My budget is <$1650, and I have gone for:

Case - NZXT H440 - $120
Monitor - Asus MX239H - $200
HDD - Western Digital 1Tb - $60
SSD - Samsung 840 Evo 250Gb - $130
RAM - Corsair 8Gb 1866Mhz - $100
PSU - Corsair RM 850w - $135
Cooler - NZXT X61 Kraken - $140
Mobo - Asus Z97 Pro Wifi - $210

and at the moment (in terms of GPU and CPU) I have the i5 4690K ($220), and the GTX 770 ($320).

I make and edit videos and photos, and live-stream, and game. Thanks to my monitor, I won't be gaming above 60FPS but basically, I'd like to game at above 45FPS on Max Settings for games like BF4 (preferably 60FPS). I want to also get the best out of video editing and streaming. So, my questions are these:

Is it better to go for the GTX 770 and get higher FPS rates, and have only the i5 4690K. OR choose the GTX 760, and get better performance out of an i7 4790K.
I'd actually prefer both if possible, so the next thing I ask is:
Is there anything you would suggest changing from my build specs, to allow for both. (it is about a $100 difference between the i5 and i7, and a $100 difference between the 760 and 770), so what could be changed in my PC build, to allow for both.

But if you guys think that the i5 will actually not be too bad for streaming, or video editing (as this isn't for massive 8 hour videos), or you think that the difference between 770 and 760 isn't too great, please let me know.
Thanks.

Video cards are components are getting more effiecient the 650 should be fine unless you decide have a sli set up...
There is no point to get another 770 in 3 year because by then it will be outdated in my opinion...

ASUS Z97-A is cheaper and you can pick up an external wifi card for around $20.

If you buy the 4790k I wouldn't spend an extra 100 to overclock if you're on a budget because you won't be able to overclock much unless you do well in the silicon lottery...

I would put the extra money towards a gtx 780

Yes, but is there anything I can swap around to allow for the i7?

Swap out 2 things. You don't need the whole "Kraken water cooling thing" Just grab a Hyper EVO 212 for $30. Also get a lower power supply. Right now, your build only need 650-750 watts, and 850 is overkill. Downgrade both of those and you should be in the right budget for an i7.

Only one thing, say that after 2-3 years I decide to upgrade the Graphics card, wouldn't I want a PSU powerful enough to handle two graphics cards, or would it be so outdated it wouldn't even matter???

Also I plan on over clocking (I have been told it is worth it), and thus I would've said the Kraken to be worth it..?

Thing is that I do in fact need the wifi feature. Don't have the ethernet option sadly. And I would've chosen the 650, but if I was to get another GPU in say 3 years, wouldn't I want to be able to use both my original graphics card, and the new one, and in that case I would need the more powerful 850w. Or is it not really going to be worth it after such a long period of time

Really? The 212 evo is ok for budget, but for decent overclocking the X61 would be far better.

YES WE AGREE!!!!! 😛

Evo is actually excellent.

if you have a gtx770... why do you need a cpu for editing? find a program that allows gpu acceleration for your video editing needs and just get the 4690k. the gtx770 will do the editing work 5-20 times faster than any cpu ever made. save your money and get the gtx770, it shouldn't have much problem holding 60fps in battlefield 4 maxed out at your resolution. my 780 has its 99% frames above 60fps on my 1440p monitor... logged using the bf4 frame analyzer on 64man servers on quite a few maps.

the evo is by far the best bang for buck solution... and unless you have other programs that rely purely on core clock, gaming will see absolutely no performance increase from overclocking.

im struggling to understand why you guys are recommending the x61 when the swiftech h320 is only a couple bucks more and vastly superior in every way, better performing, quieter, and more expandability. otherwise the x31 performance is comparable to the phanteks ph-tc14 or a noctua nh-d14 which a preferable over water unless you plan on transporting your rig.

+1 Waiting for the 870... It's going to be a true powerhouse at a great price. Historically the x70 series is a performance for value leader upon every launch and this one will have lower PSU requirements.

PS: I get amazing benchmarks with my 2nd gen i7 2600 and 780ti OC, almost identical to tech sites that use faster processors so you could go a little slower on CPU and increase budget on GPU as that's what games are always hungry for.

For a budget cooler. It cant compete with the higher end coolers.

the kraken is definitely a good cooler, but unless you can find it for less than the $100 price point, i feel it just not worth the money over a swiftech that offers so much more performance and customization.

even h220 is just as good as the x61 for the same price. it should also noted that if you replace the fans on the swiftechs, the h220 will completely blow the kraken away.
