Better internet, higher ping

Hi everyone, I had 2 mbps internet, I changed my ISP and got a 4 mbps internet, I can see a big difference in almost everything, youtube, download, speed test, etc. but not LoL, I used to get 80 ping but now I get 115, why is that? Shouldn't my ping go lower since my internet is 2x faster?

Ping has nothing to do with your download speed, ping is the reaction time of your connection and how fast you get a response after you've sent out a request. A fast ping means a more responsive connection.

I see, but why has it increased by so much? It's very annoying now, is there a way to decrease it??

Your new internet provider's server is probably located father away from your house than your old internet so that means the ping is going to be higher. Unfortunately ping is more important in online games than download speed so your new internet is going to be worse for gaming than your old one.

The only way i know of getting better ping, is choosing a better internet provider. The provider that you choose probably has higher
ping but higher download speed which is ment for the average internet user.

115 is pretty high. It might be less of a matter of how far away your ISP is located, and more a matter of how your ISP routes your connection to LoL. You can try tracing the connection and seeing where it goes.

So are you guys saying there's no other solution than change the ISP back to what it was? this company offers me double the internet speed and unlimited download for the same price as 2mbps and 80 gb download only :/

Can you even notice the difference between 115ping and 80ping? if you cant then no why would you switch back.

I can!! It's a huge difference!! Before, I played normally, without any delay, not I always have this 0.5 sec delay that sometimes becoames 2 seconds, I really can't play like this, if I can't fix the ping problem, I'm returning to the old ISP for sure.

Yah well then you might have to switch back. First go to speedtest.net and see what that says your ping is to make sure its not an issue with the game.

its 20 ms, my friends were playing with me with normal pings and no lag, so its no the server.
