Purchased barebone unit with 2 rebates via Tiger Direct, recieved one rebate, multiple inquiries for $50 rebate now unanswered for months. BUY at your own RISK! Don't consider rebate offers as real!

You think the old Soyo had poor customer service? Soyo is now owned by ECS. Their idea of customer service is to ignore you till you go away, then bill you for the trouble.

SOYO SUCKS ARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I know your pain. I bought the Dragon 2 ver1 Black label and it had a $100.00 rebate. NO REPLYS FOR MONTHS! You wont get your money, I know of others who havent gotten theirs. Do you still have the website to their rebate status lookup? IF so please post it becasue I am going to send them a little e-mail. I can handle not getting my rebate, but for them to defraud the public like they have is not right. I have an Aunt that is a lawyer and even though it may not get my money back im geting her to send them a letter. Its free so why not. Also if you would like to send me a PM we can talk more about this. Im thinking of trying to get as many people as I can to start a petition of some sort and really give these A-Holes a headache.

There are different divisions of SOYO. Some of them have changed hands, but the one that makes the Mobos that he is talking about is still the same. You can see at www.soyo.com what I mean. All the rumors werent totally correct. They are still producing Mobos and actually picking up other products as well.

Thank you for that cool infoz. I'm new here 😉 Dont hesitate to not to rebate 😀

Is not only SOYO that do that. I lost 50 dollars with DELL after buying a computer. MICROTEK scan maker manufacturer refused to pay me the 100 dollars rebate after buyin an expensive scanner and only did it under
the threat of legal action.

Most manufacturers bet on the fact that they will make extra money with suckers that will not redeem their coupons or simply wont complain if they do not receive their money after they are told that THEY CAN NOT GET THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T SEND THE COUPON PROPERLY..(they are so full of it).

Last year I DID receive a rebate from Soyo for a MB I purchased. It took long enough though... so long I just about forgot about it.

They way Soyo works is they don't even look at your rebate until after the "postmarked by" date of you rebate expires. Meaning if you rebate must be postmarked by April 30th and you send in you rebate today, they just file it away until April 30th to begin processing it.
Problem is they get so backed up that by the time they get around to processing it, it's more like late May or June. Then of course you have to wait the 4 to 6 weeks for the cheques to be cut and mailed.
When all is said and done your waiting for close to 7 months or maybe more. It really sucks and is very shady.

I've never had a problem with the big 3 harddrive manufacturers (WD, Maxtor and Seagate). Usually in about 6 weeks you get your $$$.

But with all these horror stories you have to begin to take these rebates with a grain of salt. If Soyo pissess enough people off, people will stop buying their products.

One other thing. READ THE FINE PRINT. Anytime you make a purchase and there's a rebate involved, make sure you do EVERYTHING properly before you send out the rebate form, UPC, etc. These companies are just looking for an excuse to jerk you around.

You've tried and failed. The lesson here is, never try again. -- Homer Simpson.

Why do people continue to buy SOYO products. There are a lot of other companies with good products that will NOT try to scam the customer.
I have NEVER had a rebate problem like this, and I am a "rebate regular."

In fact, I have only had one other rebate problem in my life, and that turned out to be because the wrong UPC barcode was on the box. It was for an ATI video card. Once I contacted them they sent me the check and I got it a week later.

Yes, I know this post is old, but I see people are still buying SOYO products. So Here it is again.

umm, dude, you bought it from tiger direct. Beware of tiger direct not Soyo.

I found surprising that Dell would do that.. being one of the biggest or the biggest PC maker. But I learn to not buy something which had MIR. If I lok closely, I can always find the same article as cheap without rebate... O I simply don't buy it right now...

And you are right about people not complaining.. and they bet on the fact tha most people will simply forget to send it ..

Um.. NO.. The rebate is offered from SOYO. Si it SOYO's responsibility. Tiger Direct should try to help their customers, but it is not their responsibility.

SOYO are crooks.
SOYO scams their customers.

I had the same problem with Plextor a year or so back. They claimed the never received it. I had copies of every thing, sent in email. 2 days they said they found it. Then it was another 12 weeks before I received it. I filed reports with the attorny general in the 2 states that was handling the rebate and the mfg state (NY, CA) . I found out the company doing the rebates was pocketing the rebates at $50/pop. Plexor did not do anything to help the problem. Will not buy or recomend Plexor any more. They were asses over the phone.
