If you had $100 and you could only order online from the official sites, which game would you get?

Battlefield 1942 or Half-Life I

(You can't save the $100 and crack/download etc. You can only get one game even if there's a special deal and you can't wait either. Must be now! You want the game now! lol Oh, and please say why. =) )

well, this may seem like a messed up response being that I have never played HL1, but BF: 1942 is newer, which prob means better gfx, and Desert Combat is a sweet mod. But I've also heard of this mod for HL called counterstrike... :)

What sort of a question is that???

Half life is the only answer. Everyone who calls themselves a gamer should have it and laugh at the muck that battlefield is.

(Wolfy would like to recognise the fact that BF1942 is a laugh in Multiplayer but nothing comes close to the crowbar antics of HL)

"I'm the dog from the advert. Would you like to stroke my coat?"

For $100 you could get both...

But I'd take HL too. BF:1942 is a good game, and the desert combat mod is neat as well, but neither is as good as HL or CS.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

I think it's gonna depend on your hardware. BF1942 is a royal pain in the butt to play with 256MB of memory. It's doable at 512MB but I would get 768MB. It's also a lot more fun with a Radeon 9500 Pro or better. So basically if you don't have a good system I wouldn't even bother with it. I play it with a GF2 Pro and Half a gig of memory but it's not as fun as with a 9800 Pro and a gig of memory.

That might help you narrow down your choice.
