install direct x again and install new gfx drivers. if you just installed the latest 1s roll em back to the last. if you reg clean b4 each install you wont be able to but you will have a clean system to install the older 1s on.
then check the file integrity of the game. you may have to repair install it but only do that after you do the dx update and gfx repair.
