Solution
Don't worry! Tons of people have been getting this problem. I would give you a list of things to try, but everyone else said that they didn't fix the problem. All I can say is: wait a few days until EA fixes the problem. But as I said before, you're not the only one :)
I haven't been able to get BF4 stable since release until today - Feb 2014.

I had previously;

  • - Installed DXsetup in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist
    - Tried the custom User.cfg (made things worse)
    - Updated to .NET 4.5
    - Restored factory clock settings for all components
... but had no joy.

Today I did the following;

  • - updated to .NET 4.5.1
    - Ran PBsetup and updated BF4
    - Added a few extra volts for my CPU
    - Disabled NVIDIA GPU ex in BIOS <---- I think this is what finally fixed it!

I hope this helps some of you who are still suffering these ridiculous crash problems.

Edit: So the above steps got me down to 1 crash every 2 hours or so, I underclocked (below stock speeds) my GPU core and memory a bit, and finally found complete stability! Sure the 680GTX isnt' quite running at full power - but what good is a card if it can't allow you to play the game...

It's related to the latest patch. Before it ran fine but now crashes all the time after 3-4 minutes of playing. I hope dice fixes this soon. BTW I am using 7970 with 14.1 beta drivers

LOL. DICE too busy with Battlefront.

Which i played the Alpha, good game, crashed only once...here we go again xD

Sorry to hear your problem.. nothing upsets me more then not being able to play my game without crashing... This has been happening to me also. I am running a Rampage V with 16g of GSkill running at 3200 and a 5960x with 2 R9 290x in crossfire. I do not believe it is a system issue on my side.
I have tried everything I could think of. I even tried only using FireFox instead of Google thinking that might do it but no.... Finally I waiting until I got into the game and the first thing I did was turn down everything from Ultra to Med then lowered the Resolution scale from 140 to 120. The 140 was pre set.
So far I have had no crashes and no Hard Crashes at all. Just a suggestion that you can try very easily. I think the latest updates have done something to VRam usage. I personaly don't think 4g is enough... I'm running 2560x1440 on an Overlord at 120hz and should not be crashing... but there it is. BF4 is the only game I have this issue with.. Try reducing and let me know.
